This was the message I received after working with a private client the other night.
When I saw this message, it made my heart race...
Luckily, a few minutes later he let me know that everything was OK and he was not dying and the message was intended for someone else.
This peaked my curiosity because why would someone choose to use those words? I've been studying neuroscience for years and the power of words and how they impact the unconscious mind.
The unconscious mind is responsible for about 95% of your actions and when you constantly say things like: I can't I'm too old This is hard It's just my luck I'm dying
You start creating a way of thinking in your mind that is habit forming.
You become what you think about all day long
Your inner most dominant thoughts create your outer reality. Those words can turn into beliefs.
Beliefs are energy and they dictate whether or not you will attract high paying clients, get that speaking gig, or attract the right relationship.
Beliefs become a part of you on a cellular level. Why is that important?
If you're read the book You Can Heal Your Life, by Louise Hay it talks about how your emotions create disease and other conditions in the body. Although she doesn't really get into the science of it, it's still a great book to see the body and mind connection.
We know have the science to prove this. The study of epigenetics (which means upon or on) demonstrates that we can affect gene expression and activity through our emotions.
What does this really mean? It means that when you are in a highly emotional state your body becomes impacted on a physical level...right down to the cells. Turning on those genes that create disease.
This is why it's important to look at what you are telling yourself.
WORDS HAVE POWER, especially when paired with negative emotions.
As a child, I was diagnosed with a learning disorder, dyslexia. I saw my peers excelling in school while I was struggling and labeled myself as stupid. This label stuck with me for years as I internalized it as and believed it to be true. It was later until I started researching people like Einstein (who by the way was diagnosed with dyslexia too) and realized that I had a genius mind just waiting to be birthed.
I started to give myself permission to be FABULOUS. I wasn't going to let that label and belief dictate my outcome. When I started studying the greatest teachers, philosophers, and people that I perceived were extraordinary, I saw that I had all of the same traits. It allowed me to own my power and start taking action in the direction of my inspired destiny.
Have you ever told yourself you couldn't do something and then proved yourself right? This is how powerful your words can be.
You might even say to yourself that you can't charge $$$ for a client or that you've always been broke.
It's so easy to say, yet harder to break the habit. This is why it's critical to work on your self-talk.
What are you saying to yourself right now? Are they words that are INSPIRING or words that are breaking and beating you down? Your mind is continually processing the words you are telling yourself and encoding that into your belief systems. Your beliefs run your unconscious and they can make or break you.
I know, because it was something that I struggled with for years in every area of my life. This is why I've dedicated my life to help others that are wanting to play on a bigger scale. Are you feeling the desire to.... Empower every area of your life. Create mission and purpose that INSPIRES others Finally get out of your own way.
So here's what you can do right now... Start paying attention to the words you are saying in every area of your life. Just start by bringing this to your conscious mind because you can't change anything that you're not aware of.
When I work with clients we go deep within the unconscious to find what is really stopping them from going to the next level. Even CEO's get in their head and create the same kind of lack programming. Every great leader experiences doubt and it's how you transform your doubts and fears that can transform your success. Start focusing on words of power and make it a daily habit.
